by Carole Thaxton (co-author of KONOS curriculum)
In thirteen steps carried out over a semester or entire year, students come up with good story ideas through examining the books they themselves love. They then take the process of story development apart and develop each part into their own work. Later they work on developing tense and mood, writing vividly and strongly, and then spend two whole months checking and developing skills in spelling, mechanics, and usage. The final lessons include points in layout, fonts, and bindings. The end result is that the student has a product worthy of publication. Throughout the book the author includes Biblical principles providing the student with a moral vision.
