Correct punctuation is necessary to the meaning of sentence. Problems of punctuation can arise because writers and publishers do not follow the same style. Some use an open style approach which means omitting punctuation unless it is absolutely necessary for clarity. Others use the close style of punctuation, which is more formal and follows rules of punctuation. In this book, the rules of close punctuation will be followed.
